The line for week 1 falls right at Ravens -3, which is right about where it should be for opening week with a lot of questions about a Ravens team coming back from an injury-filled season. Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders will open up the season on the road in New Orleans as they take on Drew Brees and the Saints. The Raiders have looked primed to take that next step after hitting big on drafting young players like Derek Carr, Amari Cooper, and Khalil Mack.
- Two AFC North rivals will face off in Baltimore when the Ravens host the Bengals.
- The Super Bowl is the most popular sporting event in North America and is the most popular sporting event to bet on around the world.
- The Raiders just haven’t seemed to get all of their offensive weapons to work at once this season.
- Hunt, who has 754 yards rushing, also has 23 catches for 337 yards and six touchdowns.
The Falcons’ passing offense is going to be dangerous as long as Matt Ryan has Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, two of his best receivers in the game, on the field every week. The Falcons benefitted greatly from 3 Kirk next Cousins interceptions early in the game and I was more convinced by all phases of the Lions’ win. I see Detroit as the more talented team overall and they have won 6 of their last 9 games on the road against Atlanta, and I’ll pick that trend to continue. The Panthers’ disappointing loss to the Bears reminded everyone that this team is still in the midst of a rebuilding season, but they shouldn’t be disregarded altogether. The offense has flashed moments of excellence at times as it’s been directed by Matt Rhule and Joe Brady, two of the great offensive minds in the NFL.
Highest Totals
They have up so much to go and get Trey Lance in the draft but the offense hasn’t got going at all this year, but Kyle Shanahan has had a bye week to try and fix things. Two teams who could really use a win to get their season back on track, but you can argue that the 49ers need it more and their expectations are higher. Jalen Hurts continues to keep his team in games but he and this offense have too many limitations, and the Raiders should continue to roll.
Dallas @ Green Bay
While they’re they’re still 3-0 against the spread and have been winning and losing people a lot of money in Vegas with their late game comes backs in the fourth quarters of multiple games. New England’s defense now faces the NFL’s third-best passing offense in Tampa Bay. Quarterback Jameis Winston is coming off his best game this season in a win over the New York Giants.
Another number that’s posted on the NFL Las Vegas is the total or ‘over/under’ for the specific matchup. If the favorite is designated as the home team, then the total will be listed above and vice versa if the visitors are favorites. The point-spread was developed to provide a balance for both teams involved in a contest to entice bettors to potentially back the weaker team and receive points. The two squads in a game are listed with a title, either a favorite or an underdog. The favorite is usually the perceived better team in the game, as backing them means giving up several points. That’s a long way of saying this is a better apples-to-apples comparison for betting.
Fantasy & Betting
Bettors believe the Colts will extend their successful road ATS mark as underdogs to three straight after covering the number against the Ravens (Week 5, +7.5) and Dolphins (Week 4, +2.5). Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has been unstoppable in the last three games, posting 441 total yards with five total touchdowns. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned in Week 6 after missing three weeks and looked sharp, throwing for a season-high 329 yards and two touchdowns in London against the Jaguars. However, Tagovailoa’s efforts could not prevent a third straight ATS loss as Jacksonville earned its first straight-up win of the season. Chicago’s Nick Foles is once again living up to his reputation as effective in-season replacement and game manager. The Bears defense has also been highly effective, allowing the seventh-fewest yards per game (337.2) while notching eight takeaways through the season’s first six games.
Hundley, in his third year with Green Bay, showed his lack of experience in a loss to the Saints. The former UCLA star threw one interception and was sacked once. What will help him against the Lions on Monday is a informative post running game led by Aaron Jones who had 131 yards on 17 carries. The problem is that Detroit is fairly stout against the run giving up an average of 91.6 yards per game, which is seventh in the NFL. The Seahawks and Cardinals have had some epic battles in the past. Just last year on Christmas Eve, the Cardinals scored a win at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, one of the toughest places to play in the NFL.
